We’re still fighting!
We’re still fighting fracking! We’re not just fighting for Preston New Road, but any site that is at risk. If Lancashire County Council’s decision is overturned, this will open the door to the UK being bombarded with applications to frack the very earth underneath us.
We’ve won at every stage. Which is probably why Westminster has shifted the goal posts when it didn’t get the result it wanted! Now, they want to enforce shale gas on an unwilling community despite the planning committee voting against it. This is not democracy in action.
Still, on we fight and it doesn’t come cheap. We’re largely self-funding and we’ve had an AMAZING amount of support, both financial, physical and profession, so far, but we need your help to put in place all of the expert witnesses and legal professionals that we can. We want to also support our brave local councillors, alongside their defence case against corporate interests over local democracy.
A suit in Westminster, with zero local knowledge or interests, should not have the ability to override our democratically elected councillors. Even our Conservative MP favours localism over governmental interference.
This is primarily about fracking, but also the very real and dangerous threat to our liberty and democracy. If the government overturn Lancashire County Council’s decision, then there is little hope of keeping the rest of the UK free of the frack attack. Help us to help YOU?
