Main Application and Monitoring Array Appeal Information
The main application was refused by Lancashire County Council on the 29th June 2015.
Cuadrilla then went on to submit an appeal against this decision on the 23rd July 2015.
This is the appeal timetable set by the Planning Inspectorate. The decision, however, will not be made at the appeal: Greg Clark, Secretary of State for Local Communities, has removed the power from the Planning Inspectorate and intends to decide for himself whether local democracy should be upheld. He said that the reasons for the appeal having been recovered by Westminster are: “…the drilling appeals involve proposals for exploring and developing shale gas which amount to proposals for development of major importance having more than local significance and proposals which raise important or novel issues of development control, and/or legal difficulties.”
We have no further information on this at the present time.
